Chalk Ribbon Pierrot

The design

Thin taupe ribbon lends definition to this chalk-white Pierrot concept without turning it into a strongly contrasting costume. A flat round collar sits above a loose blouse, and ribbon bows mark the front in place of large pompons. Soft sleeve gathers add volume while the straight trousers let the line settle towards the floor. The vintage-inspired design leaves expression and posture to do much of the storytelling. When discussing an actual garment, consider how the blouse length meets the trouser waist and whether the sleeves suit the intended movement.
