Apricot Patchwork Clown

The design

Patches bring an uneven, playful rhythm to this apricot-coloured circus clown study. Large pale-blue and cream shapes sit across the loose jumpsuit, with visible stitching giving their edges a place in the design. Two broad pockets and a simple pale collar keep the outline legible without extra props. The straight trouser legs create a different shape from a gathered clown suit, so the character can be imagined through stance as well as colour. This vintage-inspired illustration is a starting point for discussion.
